WHAT IS BURNING HAMMER FILM FESTIVAL?

Burning Hammer Film Festival is the first ever celebration of wrestling storytelling in the UK and Europe, an exclusive, unique and unmissable three day event designed to champion the best-told tales in the industry that we love.

Created by a panel of passionate film and wrestling lovers, it’ll be both an opportunity to showcase creative work from around the globe, and to raise a glass to it, together (yes, we have beer).

Our full, three day programme will be announced in due course – stay in touch on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for announcements.

Meet the team.

Picture
Dale Beaumont-Brown.
Festival Director / Director of Programming.
For 11 years, Dale's megalomaniac tendencies have driven him to direct documentaries and films for exhibition on cinema, TV and VOD. Previously, Dale backyard wrestled sustaining six concussions, a broken ankle and internal bleeding in his hip. Festival director is a nice quiet change.

Picture
Ross Hagan.
Deputy Director / Events Coordinator.
Ross is a film producer and editor who has worked on various projects. Although too chicken to do any backyard wrestling, he prolonged festival director Dale's road to recovery by repeatedly stepping on his broken ankle like a clumsy oaf in 2002.

Picture
Adam Williams.
Film Programme Manager.
Adam is a freelance camera operator and sound recordist with a huge love of the squared circle. He’s worked on a variety of productions, from documentaries to feature films. Now his two passions are colliding, a dream match for the Burning Hammer Film Festival.

Picture
Greg Foster.
Project Manager / Events Manager.
Greg loves film. So much in fact that he's covered film festivals, written about film (for outlets including Den of Geek and the International Syndicate of Cult Film Critics), presented his own show about film and talks about film on BBC Norfolk. Greg also loves gin.

Picture
James Musselwhite.
Project Manager.
James is a portrait photographer who photographs portraits of wrestlers for his project, the cannily titled 'Portrait of a Wrestler'. He likes Star Wars, a strong IPA and the mid 90's comedy work of Lee and Herring.

Picture
The Lady J.
Talks & Sessions Manager.
Known as The Lady J, this loud-mouth American writer and podcaster can be spotted, without warning, at BritWres shows championing inclusivity via the PWGrrrlGang charitable organisation. When not Having An Opinion she enjoys death matches, Raisinets, and photos of dogs.

Picture
Rob Brazier.
Talks & Sessions Coordinator.
A self-taught photographer with twelve years experience in the wrestling business, Rob brings his unbridled passion to Burning Hammer. First attracted to the scene for it's depth of character, he now uses his position as photographer as a medium to share their stories.

Picture
Matt Taylor Richards.
Talks & Sessions Coordinator.
Commentator, presenter, ring announcer, podcaster and all-round wrestling mouthpiece, Matt Richards' voice is one of the most recognisable on the British scene. With an encyclopedic wrestling brain and a passion for the art on an international scale, we're putting his punditry to good use.

Picture
James Weston.
Events Coordinator.
Media graduate James’ love of wrestling culture was serendipitously reignited by a podcast. He passed that spark to Dale and Ross with a WhatsApp group. His hunger for more is insatiable on a cold island where wrestling doesn't exist.

Picture
Jimmy Havoc.
Social Media Coordinator.
A man that needs no introduction, Jimmy is one of the UK’s finest wrestlers and most iconic champions. While he represents British wrestling on an international stage, his body of work encompasses much more - he’s a dedicated mentor, trainer and beer drinker.

Picture
Rob Dobrowolsky.
Graphic Design.
If you’re a British wrestling fan, then you’re probably already familiar with the work of designer Rob Dobrowolsky. He’s not only the creative mind behind the merch and logos of some of our favourite promotions and wrestlers, but he designed our Burning Hammer standard too.

Picture
Oli Sandler.
Operations Manager.
Full time photographer, full time bagel and tea enthusiast. Despite having been shooting for 10 years he is yet to work out how to smile in photos without grimacing. Oli is just as likely to be photographing wrestling show as he is corporate head shots.

Picture
Jack Hill.
Video services/editor.
Cameraman. Editor. Film fanatic. A lucky person who has somehow managed to turn a 20 year passion for wrestling into a paying gig. Endlessly excited and fascinated by any new filming challenge, although his face rarely shows it.
